SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Virtual Private NetworkThe ElekChek SSL Internet transaction gateway allows you to
conduct real-time credit card transactions over the Internet using the encryption
capability of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
ElekChek performs on a secure server host that interfaces directly to the transaction network.
ElekChek's virtual private network,
communicating via HTTP and operating over SSL, works as follows:
|
The consumer
purchases merchandise by sending a payment request, with the credit card information, to
the ElekChek server. |
|
This information
is encrypted between the consumer's computer and the ElekChek server. |
|
The ElekChek
server creates an authorization request (in the VisaNet second generation format) and
sends it to the SSL server operated by the transaction gateway. |
|
This SSL server
then decrypts the request and sends it over a private link to the gateway node. |
|
From here, the
transaction is routed according to the Bank Identification Number (BIN) in the transaction
record -- just as if a standard point-of-sale terminal application had placed the call. |
The SSL
Internet gateway supports SSL 3.0 (TLS v1.1). The ElekChek
server supports 256-bit SSL encryption. |
